Arrival & Preparation
Arrival notification, crew introduction, homeowner walk-through, initial system check and preparation of the supply and return sides.
Equipment Connection
Hoses are brought into the home, access openings are created when accessible, vents are prepared and negative pressure is established.
Cleaning the Ductwork
Accessible wall, ceiling, floor and return vent ducts are agitated. Main trunk lines are also cleaned using tools selected for the duct material and configuration.
Closing & System Check
Access openings are professionally closed, the filter is reinstalled and the heating or cooling system is turned back on and checked.

THE COMPLETE WALKTHROUGH
Start With Step 1
The videos below show the process in the order it normally happens. Because every home and duct system is different, the exact tools, access points and procedures may vary.
STEP 1
Arrival times
We will call or text you on the day of service when the technicians are on their way, whichever you prefer. All appointment times are arrival windows. For example, an 8–10 AM appointment means the technicians will arrive between 8:00 and 10:00 AM.
A typical one-system home takes approximately 1–2 hours once the technicians arrive. Additional systems require additional service time.
STEP 2
Team Arrives
Owner-operator Duane Loverde and his helper(s) arrive at your home. The crew will need space in your driveway or convenient parking near the home.
STEP 3
Set up
Equipment is unloaded, followed by a walk-through with the homeowner to review the system layout, explain the work to be performed, and answer any questions.
STEP 4
Unit Checked
The heating or cooling system is turned on, according to the season, to verify that it is operational before cleaning. The system remains off while the cleaning is performed..
STEP 5
Unit Zoned
The HVAC system is turned off and the furnace filter is removed. Hard insulation is installed as needed to separate the supply and return sides of the system during cleaning.
STEP 6
Hoses Laid Out
Hoses are run from the Nikro HP20 gas-powered negative-pressure vacuum into the home and to the HVAC system. Its portable design allows the equipment to remain outside while the duct system is cleaned.
STEP 7
Access Openings Created.
The technician creates an approximately 8-inch circular access opening in the supply main and return main when accessible. These openings allow the Nikro HP20 hose to be connected directly to each side of the duct system for cleaning.
STEP 8
Suction Preparation
The technician closes or seals vent openings as needed to create strong negative pressure throughout the ductwork during cleaning. The homeowner is responsible for showing the technicians the location of all accessible vent openings and HVAC systems in the home.
STEP 9
Hose Attached
The Nikro HP20 hose is attached to either the supply main or return main. The two sides of the duct system are cleaned separately. When direct access to a main trunk line is not available, an alternate connection method may be used.
STEP 10
Machine Started
The Nikro HP20 is started to create strong negative pressure throughout the duct system. Negative pressure is maintained during the cleaning process while dust and debris are loosened and directed toward the vacuum.
STEP 11
Wall and Ceiling Vents Agitated
Technicians clean each accessible supply wall and ceiling vent duct using compressed-air tools or brush augers, depending on the type of ductwork. Dust and debris are loosened and directed toward the Nikro HP20 negative-pressure vacuum. When compressed air is used, register and vent covers typically do not need to be removed.
STEP 12
Floor Vents Agitated
Technicians clean each accessible supply floor vent duct using compressed-air tools or brush augers, depending on the type of ductwork. Dust and debris are loosened and directed toward the Nikro HP20 negative-pressure vacuum. When compressed air is used, register and vent covers typically do not need to be removed..
STEP 13
Return Vents Agitated.
Technicians clean each accessible return vent duct using compressed-air tools or brush augers, depending on the type of ductwork. Dust and debris are loosened and directed toward the Nikro HP20 negative-pressure vacuum. When compressed air is used, register and vent covers typically do not need to be removed.
STEP 14
Trunk Lines Agitated
Technicians use the existing 8-inch access openings to clean the main trunk lines with the appropriate compressed-air tools or brush agitation, directing loosened dust and debris toward the Nikro HP20 negative-pressure vacuum.
STEP 15
Small Access Openings
When needed, technicians create smaller access openings in the main trunk lines to allow compressed-air tools to reach areas that cannot be effectively cleaned through the primary access openings.
STEP 16
Acess Panels
The 8-inch access openings are professionally closed using sheet-metal access panels secured with screws and aluminum tape. Smaller access openings, when required, are sealed with appropriate plugs.
STEP 18
Unit turned back on
The heating or cooling system is turned back on, according to the season, to verify that it is operational after cleaning.
STEP 17
Filter reinstalled.
The filter is reinstalled. If the customer provides a clean replacement filter, the technician can install it.
STEP 19
Dryer vent cleaning
Dryer vent cleaning can be added to air duct cleaning for $80 or performed as a standalone service for $180. Service includes cleaning from the exterior termination point to the dryer connection whenever the vent is accessible and serviceable.
The dryer must be operable. We cannot service roof vents, vents requiring a ladder over 15 feet, vents located beneath low decks, or vents that otherwise cannot be safely accessed.
STEP 20
EnviroCon
EnviroCon can be added during air duct cleaning for $80 per HVAC system. EnviroCon is an EPA-registered bacteriostat, fungistat, and deodorizer designed for use in HVAC systems.
STEP 21
Before and after photos.
Before and after photos are taken of accessible areas of the duct system so you can see the results of the cleaning performed in your home.
STEP 22
Finalize.
All equipment and supplies are removed from the home and the technicians perform a final check of the work area. Payment is due on the day of service after the work is completed.
We accept major credit cards, check, cash, Zelle, and Venmo. An invoice can also be emailed for online payment.
